How much we know our traditions – questionnaire

THE ANALYSIS OF SURVEY

We asked the students of the 6th grades of primary schools Miklavž na Dravskem polju, if they know the culture and the culinary art of Slovenia. Most of the students know the folk fairy stories. Most common answers were Kralj Matjaž, Zlata ptica, Mamka bršljanka and Železni prstan. More than half students know the folk songs, like Ob bistrem potoku je mlin, Kaj ti je deklica, Marko skače, Pastirček, Psiček nima repa več. We also asked them, if they know the traditional Slovene dishes. All students know Slovene dishes, most of them answered Prekmurska gibanica, Idrijski žlikrofi, potica, Kranjsko klobasa, Trojanski krofi, and the combination of butter, bread and milk.  The students also know the children games. They answered zemljo krasti, ristanc, ali je kaj trden most, gnilo jajce and bela bela lilija. Almost half of the students know the national costumes, listed are Jurij, slovenska narodna noša, bela obleka and belokranjska noša. The students also know some holidays. Most common answers were Christmas, kurentovanje, Jurjevanje, martinovanje, the day of statehood, Prešernov dan, Easter. We also asked them, if they knew how marriages are celebrated in our country. They wrote that we set up »šranga«, we dress nice, we can get married also in church, we throw rice, husband and wife exchange rings.The students also know the memorials in our country, most of them wrote spomenik padlih borcev, rimske gomile and Prešernov spomenik. And for the end, we asked them what is characteristic of Slovenia. They wrote Kranjska sausage, Triglav, sportsmen, Slovenian dance, catechism, flag, Lake Bled, folk songs, the Predjama castle, Slovenian language, Maribor, Ljubljana, Lipizzaner horses and a proteus.
